Ginger Root
Is there a big difference between fresh and frozen Ginger Root? Frozen you ask and the answer is a big yes. One day years ago I was having a conversation with a very nice woman at the store that shared with me how she stored her ginger root in the freezer. I thought about what she told me and it made a lot of sense.
Grating frozen ginger is so easy and nice. With the frozen ginger you can use a potato peeler to remove the skin off of the root before grating for evenly grated ginger. You can also break off a hunk and let it thaw out if you need to put chunk in to a soup or some other dish that you’re making.
I haven’t tried replacing powdered ginger but I think that you should be able to do that too.
